Hello everyone! Before I introduce myself, I want to thank you for being here with me! My name is Allie Brooks, and I am a wife, mother, and mommy blogger. So, let’s kick this off with some background info, shall we?

I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Jonathan, with whom I have two beautiful children – Avery, who is currently 3 years old, and Violet who is currently 3 months old. My family and I live in El  Paso, TX, where my husband works as a merchandiser for Frito Lay, and I stay home with the kiddos. Since I intend for this blog to fall under the “mommy/family” umbrella, it seems only fair that I tell you a little bit about my family. After all, they are my pride and joy – and obviously my inspiration for starting a blog! Our son Avery is about as  “boy” as boys get, and definitely keeps us entertained. He loves all things comic-related  – especially Batman and Superman – dancing, and learning what it means to be a big brother. The newest addition to the family, our little girl Violet, is truly a bundle of happiness! And I’m not exaggerating – she literally smiles for everything LOL. She already seems to be a  daddy’s girl, and definitely loves watching her big brother. I guess we better enjoy this time before the sibling wars start!

To be honest, I’m not sure if my husband wants me to include a bio on him,  but I’m going to anyway – it’s not like Im going to say anything bad about him LOL. Jonathan is a great husband and father,  who works very hard to take care of us, including waking up at 3 in the morning for work (I know!). Needless to say, I have a lot to be thankful for! By now, it is probably obvious that I love family life, and being able to stay at home with our kids. Of course, being a stay-at-home is no easy job (probably the hardest job), but in my opinion, the rewards definitely outweigh the challenges – I love being able to take care of my kids every day, and watch them grow. Not to mention, staying home means a lot more time with the hubby!

I have a BA in Psychology with a minor in Counseling and Educational Psychology.

I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters (I’m the oldest).

I have worked in behavioral health for children with Autism, as well as a teacher’s ssistant at an elementary school.

The “curls” part of my blog name is inspired by my naturally curly hair.

I love trying new hair and skin products.

My husband and I are addicted to shopping on Amazon (who isn’t?).

I have an(other) addiction to Target and Starbucks (hence, the “coffee” half of the blog name).

I wrote poetry growing up, and have a love for music.

Thanks to my hubby, I have a new-found love for comic book movies.

I grew up in New Mexico, and lived in A LOT of houses (too many, I think).

I have had 4 legal names in my life.

I think I just discovered that I use parenthesis too much LOL.

As I mentioned earlier, blogging is a new arena for me, but every blogger has to start somewhere! I am super excited to be embarking on this new adventure with you! I hope to connect with fellow bloggers, mommies, wives, families, and anyone else who is interested in what I have to say. Being a wife and mother is truly the best of my life, and my greatest part of my life. Is it hard? Of course. Is it tiring? Definitely! Is my life perfect? Of course not – but my family definitely brings out the best in me, and I hope to share that joy with others. I hope my experiences, stories, and advice is able to resonate with people of all backgrounds, and help them in their family life. I can’t wait to share more about myself, and learn more about motherhood, family, and hear your inspiring experiences and stories, as well!

Feel free to share your thoughts, questions, and comments about what you would like me to write about, and come back to learn more about my experiences as a wife, and stay-at-home mommy!

Thanks so much for joining me!
